Since discovering generative AI in July 2025, Hana Petal has been creating AI-driven video works, primarily sharing short films through social media while also drawing on professional experience as a web marketer.
With a background as both an actor and stage director in small theater, she brings a deep understanding of motif, composition, and emotional subtlety to AI filmmaking. Her work translates the analog sensibility of live performance and embodied direction into visual storytelling shaped through AI tools.
Rather than simply showcasing technology, her practice is centered on creating visual experiences that genuinely move people. By combining theatrical instinct, physical sensibility, and generative AI, she crafts memorable films marked by emotional depth and strong visual impact.
In February 2026, her work received consecutive recognition in contests hosted by the global AI video generation platform KlingAI. This momentum was further underscored by winning the Grand Prize at the Shodoshima Generative AI Video Contest, affirming the strength of both the visual beauty and expressive power of her films.
